A Sanctuary for All:
Inclusivity + Equity
Beloved Yoga has always striven to uphold the principles of purposeful inclusion, with respect to both physical and economic accessibility for all people. We celebrate diversity of racial and cultural identity, sexual and affectional orientation, gender identity and expression, religious orientation/belief, marital status, family structure, age, mental and physical health, and ability.
Beloved Yoga respects the powerful and healing aspects of touch. As a studio, we invite practitioners to learn self-massage and self-assisting methods. Teachers utilize the tools of cueing and demonstration. We do not offer hands-on joint manipulation, pressing firmly, or massage during savasana. Yoga is intended to be a self-empowering practice, and we trust you will find that we are not taking anything away from the experience of yoga but giving it back to the practitioner.
At Beloved Yoga, we strongly believe in education and safety. All of our teachers have studied the ancient art of Yoga and hold a safe and welcoming space free of judgement. The majority of our teachers are trauma-informed and many are certified Yoga Therapists with the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) and hold Experienced-Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) accreditation with Yoga Alliance.
If you require financial assistance to access class, we offer the option to write a short paragraph to Maryam@belovedyoga.com and share what is happening with your finances. We will work together to find a solution and make yoga accessible for you!
Philosophy
We carry the teachings of Yoga as codified by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras, taught by Sri Krishnamacharya, and inspired by Hatha, Raja, Bhakti and Tantra Yoga. Our essential teaching is that Yoga was, and always has been, intended to be customized for the individual. We support a practice that meets the practitioner where they are.

Beloved Yoga offers private and small group classes taught by trauma-informed Yoga therapists. These classes are designed to help alleviate physical pain and emotional suffering. Research shows that Yoga aids in relieving stress, chronic pain, PTSD, lower back pain, heart disease, and in surviving cancer.
For the students who desire to deepen their practice and possibly teach Yoga, the Beloved Yoga School offers a 100-hour Immersion, a 200-hour Teacher Training, and a 300-hour Advanced Teacher Training. Beloved Yoga also offers certification programs in senior and chair yoga, Pranayama, and trauma-informed Yoga. In addition, we offer a wide array of workshops, specialty series, and Ayurvedic services for everyday yogis to explore the ancient philosophy and wisdom Yoga brings forth in peace and unity.
