Accepting Applications for 2009 Flow Teacher Training

 

 

BelovedYoga Flow Teacher Training 2009

BelovedYoga 200 hour Flow Teacher Training (BYFTT) program will provide a safe, nurturing and creative environment in which to grow and deepen one's practice and begin the journey towards becoming a Yoga Teacher. BYFTT is certified by the nationally recognized Yoga Alliance and upon graduation participants will receive 200 Hr RYT certification. The Program will be led by Maryam Ovissi (eRYT) and Odisa Walker (eRYT). As part of the Teacher Training, we will be welcoming guest teachers to bring their own personal areas of expertise and knowledge to the trainees.

As a part of the BYFTT, we will be offering of participating in a 50-hour Teacher Mentoring program. This program is intended for those who want to develop the art of teaching and discover ones own voice and style. The seat of the yoga teacher is a place of honor and respect. This mentoring program is to help guide and mentor teachers to discover their seat and continue to find the balance between being a teacher and eternally being a student.

This program is included in BelovedYoga Flow Teacher Training Program Spring 09. If you have already completed a teacher training and would like to just participate in the Teacher Mentoring Program the Fee is just $250. Please email belovedyoga@yahoo.com for more information.

Teacher Training Dates:
Trainees may miss only two days. Additional work will need to be done to fulfill the hours. Saturday: 12 - 5:30 p.m. Sunday: 12 - 5 p.m.

BYFTT Program Overview:
  • Gain knowledge about the history, philosophy and various paths of Yoga
  • Insight into the Yoga Sutras & Bhagavad Gita
  • Establish and deepen a daily asana and meditation practice
  • Deepen your understanding of poses and their benefits/contradictions
  • Receive and perform hands-on adjustments
  • Begin to read the body and adapt poses appropriately
  • Sequence poses to create a balanced flow
  • Learn to articulate the muscular-skeletal components of selected postures
  • Deepen your knowledge of the therapeutic value of the asanas in the primary series
  • Cultivate deeper levels of awareness and balance in mind and body
  • Learn to establish a daily meditation practice and learn to lead group meditation
  • Assist students in experiencing transformation
  • Give safe and effective adjustments
  • Sequence postures and structure a class
  • Communicate effectively without sacrificing the integrity of a strong class
  • For those who want to become teachers, will offer additional opportunities to co-teach with studio teachers.
  • Learn about the art of language for teaching
  • Learn about the power of music in your classes
  • Deepen your knowledge of Sanskrit and Chanting

The cost of the program is $2800 includes a 30 class pass and teacher training manual. If you register before November 15th, the program cost will be ONLY $2650. Teacher Trainees will receive special discounted rates for required workshops at the studio during your training. For Trainees who wish to teach, we will offering a 50 hour teacher mentoring program where trainees will co-teach with our studio teachers. This is part of the program but is optional.
