YOGA FOR CHILDREN
Clinical studies have shown that yoga not only improves physical fitness in children but also contributes to better academic performance and emotional balance. Movement-based exercises and techniques that develop what the medical profession has determined are the two key contributors to lifetime health and wellness: self-awareness and self-care.
Our program draws from the basic tenants of yoga, and utilizes a holistic model to engage the creative side of the whole child in a non-competitive environment. Included in our classes are: yoga postures, yoga games, breathing exercises, relaxation methods, basic anatomy, yoga art, yoga literature, yoga journaling and music & songs.
Yoga comes to life in a curriculum designed to stimulate the natural energy and enthusiasm of children. Our curriculum utilizes the above while specifically designing each class to meet the developmental needs and abilities of each age group. Physical postures and relaxation techniques are made more or less playful based upon maturity.
Beloved Yoga strives to promote and support kids on the path toward a calm and balanced mind, as well as help them build a strong and flexible body- tools they can use in their everyday lives.
Our Kids Yoga Classes are accessible to all children ages 3 ½ – teens. Sessions run for 4 – 6 weeks and are held at Reston Studio. Please view our current session and register online on the KIDS EVENT.
Beloved Kids Yoga programs are back in session starting Saturday, Sept. 24 th. We are offering 4-6 week registered sessions. Please register in advance and make a commitment to the health and well-being of the family. We need 5 children to run a class. Weekly attendance offers children and parents the opportunity to learn and expand their practice of self-care. Past purchases of Yoga Kids passes for babies and toddlers will be honored and can be applied towards session registrations. Thank you for supporting our mission to empower families to journey on the path of health and well-being. Our session has started but we welcome you to register for the remaining sessions.
